This is a standard Microsoft HTML Help (restaurant.chm) file which is automatically installed with all versions of Resort Restaurant. Whenever you select any of the online help functions within Resort Restaurant, this help file is activated.

This is the online documentation formatted as a printable PDF file (restaurant.pdf). This file is only installed with CD versions of Resort Restaurant and is not included in any downloaded versions of the program. This Resort Restaurant manual file is available as a separate download from the Resort Software World Wide Web site (www.resortsoftware.com). |
Using on-line HTML Help
To launch the online HTML Help file, either:-
•Select the Help Topics... option from the Help menu in Resort Restaurant, or
•Press the F1 key from just about any window in Resort Restaurant, or
•Click the Help button whenever it appears on screen in the various Resort Restaurant windows and dialog boxes, or
•Using Microsoft Windows Explorer, double click the restaurant.chm file which is located in the Resort Restaurant program folder.
Once the main help window is displayed, you can browse the help topics in the file. Select (click) one of the topics from the browser tree on the left to display that topic in the right hand topic pane.
All of the help topics are grouped into chapters. A book icon in the browser tree indicates each chapter. These book icons expand out to display more help topics. To expand a chapter topic, click the book icon. The topic tree will expand to display the help topics under the chapter topic.
You can browse the topics page by page by clicking the 
and 
buttons in the button bar at the top of the help window.
Finally, you can search for topics containing a particular word. Click the "Search" tab at the top of the browser pane and type in the word that you are looking for. For more information on using on-line help, see the help topic Using help.
The Resort Restaurant manual
This Resort Restaurant online documentation is also available in the form of a printable manual. This manual is contained in the Resort Restaurant program folder and is called restaurant.pdf.
To view or print the manual file you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader program installed on your computer. This program is shipped on the Resort Restaurant CD and is also available for free download from the Adobe Software World Wide Web site (www.adobe.com).
Assuming that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, you can view or print the Resort Restaurant manual by:-
•Selecting the Launch Manual (PDF file) option from the Resort Restaurant Help menu, or
•Using Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate and double click the restaurant.pdf file in the Resort Restaurant program folder.
Once the manual is displayed on screen you can search for keywords or print off some or all of the manual.
NOTE 1: Due to it's size (approximately 8MB), the Resort Restaurant manual file (restaurant.pdf) is not shipped with the downloaded version of the program but is included with the version of the program that ships on CD. The manual is available as a separate download from the Resort Software web site.
NOTE 2: The Resort Restaurant manual is an extremely large file (almost 600 pages). If you wish to print the manual, ensure you have enough paper and your ink cartridges are full before beginning. The print may also take a long time to complete (depending on the speed of your printer and how many pages you choose to print), and may make your computer's performance sluggish. It is recommended you choose a time to print when you do not need to use your computer.
