Licensing Resort Bistro

Upon installation, Resort Bistro will self license to run for a 30 day trial period.  After this period you must obtain a permanent licence key from Resort Software.  This is a one-time step that only needs to be done once per Resort Bistro installation.

Before licensing Resort Bistro, please read the License Agreement.  This statement explains the terms and conditions under which you are granted the use of this application.

To license Resort Bistro

Start Resort Bistro.  If you are unsure of how to start the program see Starting Resort Bistro.

Each time the program starts, and until such time as it has been licensed, Resort Bistro will display the Trial License Dialog.  This dialog reminds you of how long you have remaining on your trial licence and displays an install code of mixed letters and digits. i.e. 'B2L2-RYMG-RWLN-RXRN'.

NOTE: If you choose not to note the installation code at this point you can find it later by selecting the 'License' option from the Tools Menu.  This will take you to the License Dialog.

Note down this install code and send it to Resort Software, or your Resort Software distributor.

Select the Contacting Resort Software option from Help to obtain the contact details for Resort Software Pty. Ltd.   You can either phone, fax or email the installation code to us. Upon receipt of payment for your purchase, Resort Software will issue a permanent license key.  To provide the permanent license key, we will require the installation code and the name of the user the program is to be registered to. Once provided, Resort Software will generate an installation key for your permanent Resort Bistro installation.  You can work on your Resort Bistro database throughout the 30 day trial period and all data entered will be saved.  All work done in the trial period will remain fully accessible after you have licensed your copy of the program.

When you get your installation key, re-start Resort Bistro and enter the installation key as sent to you by Resort Software, and the registered name and click the "Save Key" button in the Resort Bistro License Dialog.

NOTE: If you're running Microsoft Vista, you will need to right click on the program's desktop icon and select "Run as Administrator" to open up the program and enter your licence key and registered user name and hit the "Save" button. A dialog will appear to let you know if you have been successful or not. If successful, you can now use the program as you normally would. Next time you open the program, you can just double click on the desktop icon without logging in as an Administrator. If you don't enter the key under Administrator privileges in Microsoft Vista, the key may not be saved and you will need to re-enter it.

The installation key will look something like this: P2F6-B2ET-L5C8-P3Z4

Once you have licensed Resort Bistro you can run the program at any time.

If you get a later copy of Resort Bistro, you can install this new version over your existing version WITHOUT needing to re-license the program.

NOTE: Each Resort Bistro installation generates a unique install code for each computer.  If you should delete and then re-install Resort Bistro on the same machine, you may re-enter the original licence key to licence your copy.

For more help on the process of licensing your copy of Resort Bistro, see the topic on the License dialog.
