If you're completely new to Resort Chef, then we recommend that you spend a little time browsing the online help and tutorials before doing anything else. The best place to start is the topic titled Program Overview.
Once you've basically familiarized yourself with the program's many features, you might like to open one of the sample recipe databases shipped with the program (see How do I open an existing database? for help on that subject.) and browse the included ingredients and recipes in that database. Then try adding or modifying some of the ingredients and recipes. See the tutorials for help on this.
NOTE: Most of the tutorial topic titles are in the form of a question. i.e. How do I create an Ingredient?, How do I edit a recipe?, etc. So, if you're wondering how to do something in particular, try to phrase an appropriate question in your mind and then look for a similar sounding tutorial topic.
Once you have the hang of things, then try creating your own database. You can then import some ingredients or recipes into your new database (from one of the supplied sample databases), and of course, create your own ingredients and recipes.
After all that, you should be well on your way to getting the most out of Resort Chef.
