How do I delete an ingredient?

1.Open a database (if one isn't already open).

 

2.Select Ingredients from the View menu, or click the view_ingredient toolbar button. This will display the Ingredient page.

 

3.Next, select the ingredient that you wish to delete and then click the Delete button in the Ingredient page on the right (see diagram below), or...

...alternatively, click the right mouse button on the ingredient you wish to delete from in the ingredient browser list on the left and then select the Delete this ingredient... option from the resulting popup menu (see diagram below).

4.Resort Chef will prompt you asking you to confirm that you do indeed wish to delete the ingredient.  You should answer accordingly.

 

NOTE 1: You should look at the ingredient page for the ingredient you are deleting to see if it has been used in any recipes before attempting to delete it.  If an ingredient has been used in a recipe any you attempt to delete it, the program assumes that you know what you are doing, and will permit the deletion. This may leave you with recipes with ingredient missing from their ingredient lists.

 

NOTE 2: If you delete an ingredient it will be deleted permanently and you will need to create it again should you require that ingredient in the future.

 

5.Repeat from step 3 above if you wish to delete another ingredient.
