How do I modify an existing function?

To modify an existing function's details:-

First you will need to open the Function form.

This can be done by choosing one of the following methods:

Click on the button_formfunction  toolbar button        or

Select Forms->Functions from the drop-down menus                or

Click on the icon_formfunction icon on the left-hand browser pane of your database form.

Select the function that you wish to copy from the function browser pane.

Use one of the following methods to copy the selected function:

Click on the button_recordcopy toolbar button        or

Select Record->Copy from the drop-down menus        or

Hit the F3 shortcut key.

Fill in the details of the new function, remembering to change the name from that of the existing function.  More help on this can be found in the Function form topic.

Save any changes you have made by using one of the following methods:

Click on the button_recordsave toolbar button        or

Select Record->Save from the drop-down menus        or

Hit the F9 shortcut key.

If you make changes to a function and don't want to keep them you can use the icon_recordreset reset button.  This can only be used before you have clicked the Save button.

OR

If you make changes to a function and don't select the Save button you will be asked when closing down that window, if you wish to save or not.

NOTE 1: If you have the AutoSave facility enabled, Resort Executive will not show any prompts but will automatically save any changes that you have made.

NOTE 2: No two functions are permitted the same name in a Resort Executive database.  If you try to create a function with the name of a function that already exists, Resort Executive will display an error message.
