Labour tab

The Labour tab allows you to enter labour costing details relating to recipe preparation. This allows you to calculate the total cost for preparation of your recipes. See the following image.

Preparation steps

 

This section allows you to view the preparation steps that may be required for the recipe. These steps can be broken into sections such as setup, food preparation, plating, packaging, storage, cleaning etc. See the following image.

If a preparation step you require is not displayed, you can create or edit labour steps by selecting View->Labour Steps from the menu bar. This will launch the Labour Steps dialog. Newly created or edited labour steps will then appear in the labour steps list.

 

Preparation times

 

You can enter the time it takes for each preparation step in these fields. Either enter a duration in hours and minutes in the Duration field, or use the Start Time and End time fields to force the program to calculate the duration for you. Entries in the Start Time and End Time fields must be in entered in time format (i.e. hh:mm). The duration will then be displayed in the Duration field. See the following image.

Staff types and numbers required

 

This section allows you to allocated the staff type and the number of staff required for each preparation step. See the following image.

Once you have selected which preparation steps, staff members and the time they are required, the program will calculate the labour cost for each preparation step. These costs will be based on the time required by each staff member and the pay rate for that member as designated in the Staff dialog. See the following image.
