The File Menu gives you access to all of the program's file-related functions. Each of these functions is listed below.
NOTE: Many of the Resort Chef menu options have corresponding buttons on the program's toolbars. If a menu option below, has an associated toolbar button, that button is shown beside the option's description.
File menu options
New
Creates a new database file. See How do I create a new database?
Open
Opens an existing database file. See How do I open an existing database?
Close
Closes a currently open database file. See How do I close an open database?
Snapshot...
Takes a 'snapshot' of your database. Snapshots are similar to, but no replacement for backups. See the topics titled What is a database snapshot? and How do I take a database snapshot?
Import...
Launches the Import Wizard to import data from a data source. This data source may be either another Resort Software recipe database, a Recipe Exchange File (RXF), or a Chef Master 3 export file. See How do I import recipes?
Export...
Launches the Export Wizard to export data from an open database to another location. This destination location may be either another Resort Software recipe database, a Recipe Exchange File (RXF), an ASCII text file, or an HTML web site. See How do I export recipes?
Make Default Database...
Makes the currently open database the program's default database. The default database is automatically opened each time Resort Chef starts up. This saves you from going through the File|Open process to open a database each time the program starts.
Select Default Database...
Displays the Default Database Dialog box from which you choose a database to be your default database. The default database is automatically opened each time Resort Chef starts up. This saves you from going through the File|Open process to open a database each time the program starts.
Default Data Path...
Displays the Default Path Dialog box which lets you choose a default drive/folder for the program to look for database files in. When you select the File|Open menu option the program will always look in the default data path first for database files.
Database Preferences...
Displays the Database Preferences dialog box.
Print...
Prints the current page displayed in the main work area window.
Print Setup...
Displays the standard Windows Print Setup dialog box from which you choose the page settings for printing.
Send Mail...
Launches the Email Wizard. This will allow you to email selected data to one or more email recipients. You can also click on the toolbar button to launch the Email Wizard.
Recent Files
A list of recently opened Resort Chef databases. Choose one of these database file to open that file.
Exit
Exits Resort Chef.
