The Search/Select dialog is displayed when you are inserting an ingredient or recipe into a recipe's component ingredient list. It's also displayed when inserting courses and recipes into menus.
This dialog is displayed in the form of a property sheet and can have up to four tabs along the top. Each tab displaying a different property page. These property pages are discussed briefly below and in more detail in their own help topics.
Search Page
This property page lets you search for an ingredient or recipe by name, for insertion into a parent recipe or menu. Just type in part or all of the item that you are searching for and the dialog will list all matching items found in the database. Select the one you are looking for and you're done.
This property page will also let you create a new ingredient, recipe, or course, on-the-fly whilst editing a recipe or menu. See Search/Select dialog - Search page for more details.
Ingredient Page
The Ingredients Page lets you list and browse ingredients either alphabetically, by category or by supplier association. This property page will also let you create a new ingredient on-the-fly whilst editing another recipe.
NOTE: This page is only displayed when inserting an ingredient into a recipe. (Ingredients are not permitted in menus, only recipes.)

Recipe Page
The Recipe Page lets you list and browse ingredient either alphabetically or by category association. This property page will also let you create a new recipe on-the-fly whilst editing another recipe or menu. See Search/Select dialog - Recipe page for more details.
Course Page
The Course Page lets you list and browse a list of courses. This property page will also let you create a new course on-the-fly whilst editing a menu.
NOTE: This page is only displayed when inserting an courses into a menu. (Courses are not permitted in recipes, only menus.)

Displaying the Search/Select Dialog
The Search/Select dialog can be launched from within the ingredient list in recipes (Recipe dialog - Component Ingredients Page) and the recipe list in menus (Menu dialog - Component Recipes Page).
To display this dialog, from the ingredient lists, either:-
Click the right mouse button in the ingredient list and select the Insert option from resulting the popup menu. With any of the cells in the ingredient list selected (focused) press the Insert key on your keyboard (it's normally just to the right of your BackSpace key), or,
Click the 
button in the recipe/menu dialog box.
You would then use the property pages of this dialog to select an item for insertion.
