The main work area window

The Main Work Area Window is where Resort Chef displays the vast majority of the data in any open databases.

This information is displayed in a number of different pages, where each page type displays a particular item of information (ingredients, recipes, etc.). The pages of information are web pages, generated by Resort Chef from your database information, and displayed in real-time by the program. Although your information is displayed in web pages, you do not need to be connected to the Internet to run Resort Chef, as the program generates the pages and does not download them from a web site.

For example, with the Ingredient page showing (see diagram below), you will see the Ingredient Browser Pane on the left and the Ingredient Page on the right.

The browser pane lists a number of ingredients and you select ingredients from this for display in the Ingredient page on the right. You then edit/manipulate the selected ingredient's details from the buttons and links in the Ingredient page.

The actual appearance of the various pages in the Main Work Area Window is determined by the Theme that you have selected. These themes let you change the appearance (i.e. fonts and colours) of the program's onscreen pages.

For information on each of the various pages and windows that can be displayed in the Main Work Area Window, see the topics listed in Related help topics below.
